"AAC, the iPad, and Autism - Moving Beyond Choice-Making"
Description:
School-based SLPs are seeing an increasing number of children with
severe communication disorders and complex communication needs. At the
same time, iPads are finding their way into their hands to use as
therapy tools. Many may feel “stuck” in the simple requesting stage
with difficult-to-motivate students. We will review the “next steps” in
augmentative communication development, additional pragmatic functions,
and expressive language construction using inexpensive and also
full-featured communication apps.
**Attendance is FREE as always**
