COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course will provide a basic overview of AAC terminology, equipment and devices, and available funding for AAC systems and strategies. Aimed at SLP s, OTs, or PTs with little or moderate experience in using AAC, the course will provide a framework of AAC systems and strategies and give the participant ideas to assist children that would benefit from a more functional way to express themselves in the classroom, community, and at home.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the webinar conference, you will be able to:
1. List at least 5 medical diagnoses’ that would benefit from AAC systems and strategies
2. Define AAC
3. Be able to determine when to consider an AAC for a patient and how to refer
4. Describe the difference between no tech, mid tech, and high tech
5. List 3 differences between iPad and Speech Generating Device
6. Identify and define the roles of PT, OT, and SLP in AAC

Includes a live Question & Answer session at the end.
