Send to Friend
September 15, 2013
  • I Have A Question: "What are suggestions for helping parents work on Minspeak with their child?"  Read the 10 Tips & Tricks for helping parents support their child’s Minspeak system.
  • Core in the Classroom: Write or right? To, too, or two?  Use Homophones to practice core words that sound alike, but are spelled differently.
  • The Pixon Project: Pixons can be used as teaching materials for picturing the metaphors behind Unity® icon sequences.  The word for this week is "take." Compare the Pixon for taketo the Unity®84 icon sequence   using the appropriate verb endings.  Teach the meaning of the word take using props, such as a cookie jar and a cookie made into the shape of a snail.  Take the cookie out of the cookie jar.  If you can find or make snail puppets, do "races" with the snails "taking their time."

  • Save the Date:  Participate in a live on-line chat with Dr. Meher Banajee, Dr. Tracy Kovach, and Gail Van Tatenhove who will be discussing "Assessment That Drives Intervention." The event will be held on October 10, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm ET. Participants type questions in a chat box and the panelists type responses to the questions that will be published in real time.  This free event is open to ASHA members only.
