Megan Sutton at Tactus Therapy has put together a massive list of 200+ apps with descriptions that might be appropriate for adults. Some nice elements of their list is hyperlinks in the document to more info (so view the list on your computer, don't print all 21 pages), mention of a "Lite" version (if one exists), and inclusion of Format ("Universal" refers to iPhone and iPad). Full disclosure: Tactus is an app developer and the first 8 apps listed are their own. But there's plenty more, so read on!
Categorized by area of need, there are apps listed for:
- Aphasia
- Dysphagia (swallowing)
- Speech (articulation)
- AAC
- Client Support
- Cog-Comm
- Cognition
- Therapist Support
- Writing
- Games for Therapy
One minor criticism: My favorite app for AAC is not listed. So here you go. TouchChat HD and TouchChat HD with WordPower are really great, full-featured apps for AAC (I much prefer to Proloquo).
The list was updated November 2013 (nice and current) and states that it will be continually updated at this link www.tactustherapy.com/resources/
